In a winter wonderland, roam the broken and bound figurines. The little girl and young women figurines have been smashed, glued back together, grouted and bound with embroidery floss, pearls or tiny scarves. There is a disturbing incongruence between the festive setting and the damaged girls.
Sandy Tramel was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Houston in 1988, She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art and has a B.S. from Towson University. Her work has been exhibited in Houston for over eighteen years. Tramel's work has received numerous awards and has been included in exhibits in Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York.
